FAQ

We at WAMT are passionate about our music, culture and heritage and endeavour to provide our customers with a uniquely rich fun filled experience and memories to be cherished for a lifetime. Every tour is accompanied by a well-established Irish Musician(s), taking you on day trips where you will experience cultural activities and spectacular sights and by night introducing you to a wealth of traditional Irish Music and stories. Each evening you will be treated to a dedicated traditional music experience, set up specifically by Wild Atlantic Music Tours.

You will get the opportunity to meet some of the leads music friends and share stories during an intimate and informal session. What sets up apart from other tour operators is the fact that our lead musician(s) will travel daily with you and the tour group and take you to places where they have a strong attachment.

The tours will have been carefully planned to maximise the experience. Details of the tour itinerary will be shared well in advance to all tour participants. Please also note the ‘Lead Musician(s)’ will be fully involved in the planning of the daily routing and activities. Daily activities may change subject to weather etc ..

Absolutely! … By the end of the first day, you will not feel like you are traveling on your own. Please note there is a ‘single supplement’ charge for solo travellers.

Generally, the days are busy however our sessions are in the early evening allowing ample time afterwards to explore the local pubs and surroundings the destination has to offer.

Each tour has its own departure date. Please check the respective tour for a more detailed itinerary. We generally arrange for a ‘meet & greet’ in Ennis, Co Clare (Home of Traditional Irish Music) on the Saturday evening and the tour begins in earnest the following morning (circa 10.00). Each day you will be given plenty of notice for our departure time for the following day … normally around 10.00 am (depending on the day ahead).

We suggest you fly into Shannon Airport which is only 20 mins drive, coach or taxi (cost approx. €40) to Ennis, where all the tours start from. Aer Lingus is our National carrier and they offer daily direct services from New York. Alternatively, you could fly into Dublin Airport and connect with the many services from Dublin Airport to Ennis (2.5 hr drive). Please note that airport transfers are not included. We strongly encourage all guests to arrive the day before the tour starts. This not only gives you a chance to rest and to adjust to the time change (Ireland is five hours ahead of the United States east coast), but also serves as a safety net for delayed or canceled flights, as well as missing luggage.

We normally end the tour in Ennistymon, Co Clare and after the tours finishes, we will provide complimentary transport from the hotel to either Ennis Town or Shannon Airport. Ennis has train and bus services to Dublin which take about 3 hours.

WAMT will only be too happy to provide ideas, suggestions or help with any planning outside the tour dates.

We strongly recommend that all tour participants purchase trip insurance for medical emergencies while abroad.
