It is with great pleasure we announce that Kevin Burke will lead our October 4-10, 2020 tour. The internationally acclaimed virtuoso fiddle player will lead our ‘Wild Atlantic Way’ tour. Kevin, formerly of The Bothy Band and Patrick Street, has established himself as one of the finest exponents of the Irish fiddle in the world today.

Based in Oregon, USA, with a strong Irish family background in Sligo, Kevin is really excited to show off Sligo and the Wild Atlantic Way to his fans. In addition to the tourist hotspots, Kevin is also keen to visit the not so well known parts of Sligo. Join Kevin and a host of friends and experience traditional music at its best during an unforgettable trip along the Wild Atlantic Way. Meet some of the region’s best known trad musicians as they join Kevin for dedicated intimate and informal sessions each evening.

The ‘Wild Atlantic Way Tour’ is a 6 night musical cultural and sightseeing journey around Sligo, Clare, Galway and Mayo. The tour will kick off in Sligo, a town with a strong traditional music history. In addition to world famous locations such as Ben Bulben and Mullaghmore Head, Kevin will take us to all music hotspots. Day trips to Galway, ‘The City of the tribes’ and Westport will feature. Then we head to County Clare for 3 nights during which we visit The Cliffs of Moher, The Burren , Doolin and The Aran Islands.

Eileen has established herself as the pre-eminent exponent of the Irish fiddle in the world today. A native of New York, with a strong Irish family background and second home in Mayo , Eileen is really excited to show off the West Coast of Ireland to her fans. The final 2 nights will be based in County Clare, the ‘Spiritual Home of Irish Trad Music’ during which we visit Doolin, The Burren and The Cliffs of Moher. The internationally acclaimed flute & whistle maestro will lead our ‘Wild Atlantic Way Tour’.  The virtuoso flute player travels the world as frontman for Ireland’s cutting-edge traditional band, Lúnasa. Kevin has also recorded several solo albums including Carrying The Tune and his most recent, The Drunken Gaugers.

Join Kevin and a host of friends and experience traditional music at its best during an unforgettable trip along the Wild Atlantic Way. Meet some of the region’s best known trad musicians as they join Kevin for dedicated intimate and informal sessions each evening.

The ‘Wild Atlantic Way Tour’ is a 6 night tour around Clare, Leitrim, Sligo and Galway. The first 2 nights will be based in Carrick-On-Shannon which will be a nostalgic trip down memory lane for Kevin. Ten years ago Lúnasa released  ‘ The Leitrim Equation’ album after an 18 month residency in Leitrim. Once again, Kevin will meet up, share music and stories with some of the local musicians who made this project a success. Then it’s on to County Clare, the ‘Spiritual Home of Irish Trad Music’ during which we visit Ennis, Doolin , Milltown Malbay and a host of other famous trad locations. Trips to the musical and cultural hotspots of Galway and Sligo will also feature.

Wild Atlantic Music Tours takes great pleasure in announcing that Michael ‘Blackie’ O’Connell will lead the October 2019 ‘ Clare Tour’.  Blackie is one of the most exciting uilleann pipers in Traditional Music. He has his own distinctive style and is currently living, and playing, at the heart of Irish music in County Clare. Blackie regularly tours Europe, the USA and the Far East and is recognisable from his role as an ambassador for the Irish Tourism board.

At concerts and sessions Blackie performs with gusto and audiences are swept away by his exuberant and fast flowing piping style. He was taught the uilleann pipes by the great Limerick piper Mickey Dunne. His influences are the playing of Paddy Keenan, who is a regular visitor to his home in Clare, Finbar Furey and the great Johnny Doran.
